Sadness over Prop 37

Right it’s 8:30pm on Tuesday night.  I’ve just found out that Obama has been re-elected.  How do I feel about that?  Meh.  I mean I voted for Romney, but I wasn’t happy about it. There’s a part of me that think keeping Obama in office would be good because then there will be consistency. But then I also couldn’t bring myself to vote for him because of how badly he’s screwed up our country and the numerous amount of ideas I disagree with .

What I’m more bothered about right now is Prop 37. At the moment I’m writing this there is 10% of the vote in and sadly it’s not looking good. 😦  42% – 58%.  This makes me so crazy sad.  I just keep praying that something will change.  That God will create a miracle and this prop will pass.  This prop NEEDS to pass.  I’m so afraid of what will happen if it doesn’t.

It’s 12:51am now and I’ve tried to stay up for as long as possible but it seems like it may not be good for prop 37 so I’m off to bed.  As it is now,

66.3% ( 16,233 of 24,491 ) precincts partially reporting as of November 7, 2012, 12:42 a.m.
Votes %
Yes 3,103,639 45.5%
No 3,712,911 54.5%

I woke up this morning to see that I wasn’t dreaming and in fact California did NOT pass prop 37. 😦 Here are the final numbers
Yes – 4,277,985 46.9%
No – 4,835,045 53.1%

The thing is, that’s still amazing. over 4 million people saw through the lies and the deception and STILL wanted their food labeled! I say praise God that many people are now informed.  Myself being one of them.  I mean I always knew about GMOs and knew to try and avoid them, but I didn’t know how prevalent in our  country they are. 85% of all corn sold in our country is GMO corn.  85%!  Corn is one of those items we use as a special treat.  Sometimes indulging in the the corn tortillas Chipotle has because they’re not made with any vegetable oils.  But hearing that statistic now makes me second guess what special treats are and aren’t.  I call that progress.
